Faith Kids E-mail

Faith Kids had the privilege and honor of doing the Opening Act for “The Choice” -  FBCV’s Easter Cantata presentation.  They offered 3 songs, “Armor of God”, “Colors of His Love” and “I Believe”.  I was, as usual, in awe and thrilled to see what the Holy Spirit does with our members!  How the Faith Kids learned the elaborate sign language as they sang “Colors of His Love” is only possible by His power and grace.  They touched so many hearts in their own little ways.  It is so uplifting to see them already serving at their tender age.  On our first song, Daniel Kim recited John 3:16 and Phoebe Crawford led the group with their third song, “I Believe”.  A number of Faith Kids members also performed alongside the adults as townspeople in the Cantata.  Their part in the “Jesus and the Children” scene is a favorite of mine.  We are in the works for our mothers’ and fathers’ day special numbers so stay tuned!

We encourage parents to register your children so they can join this fun and energetic group where they not only make friends, develop their confidence on stage, but most of all learn the Word through our songs and serve the King of Kings.  Faith Kids you did it again!  To God be the glory!

Missions Department E-mail

By Dr. Eli Sarmiento

ImageImageThe short-term mission team that was scheduled to minister on the first quarter of year 2012 was pursued in spite of health problems of our leaders. The team charted their trip with the purpose to follow up service ministry with the KIDS HOME with the Sisons in Antipolo, to do another such visit in Puerto Galera, working with Dr. and Mrs. Francis Daytec under Medical Ambassadors Philippines, and to participate in opening the Franco Memorial Orphanage, in Santa Barbara, Iloilo. All this was done within the month of February.

In spite of our dropping out of the picture due to the illness of Dr. Elma Sarmiento and also the sudden illness of Joe Ambrosio, the rest of the members of the team decided to continue with the mission at different times during the period. The team ministered at KIDS HOME helping with the improvement of the grounds and facilities, helping in the feeding program and personal evangelism and other needs of the ministry. This was followed by a visit to Puerto Galera
helping in the clinic ministry of the Daytecs reaching out to the red district and also visiting the needy villages in the area with health care evangelism and had a first hand experience with the formation of a local church in that area as a result of the healing ministry.

ImageImageThe members of the team finally converged in Iloilo. The climax of the short term mission trip was to help in the opening and inauguration of the orphanage in Sta. Barbara. This was a main project of the Local Baptist Church in New Jersey admitting twelve orphans to its newly built facility, built on a property donated by the Franco Sisters (Elma Sarmeinto and Lucy Mandoriao) mainly financed by the New Jersey Church. Since they desired to give medico-dental services for the community on the opening day, FBCV mission team, MAP and the Franco Memorial Church were invited to partner in the work. We thank God for about 200 patients that were seen and also came to an exposure to the Gospel with the help of the members of the Franco Memorial Baptist Church.

This new ministry was done in partnership of our Faith Bible Church Vallejo with a dental team from a Baptist Church in New Jersey and Medical Ambassadors Philippines. We are thankful for what the Lord accomplished through our team in spite of the human limitations. We also want to thank the members of our church for helping the mission team by way of funding and prayers.
