The elders, staff and ministry coordinators had a great time planning, praying, and fellowshipping together at the leaders retreat held at Zephyr point conference center last January 15-18.  It was a great time  to get away from our busy schedules to focus on God’s word and be inspired to take on another  exciting year of ministry.  Pastor Reuel taught a series on spiritual leadership.  The theme of the series was moving God’s people on to God’s agenda.  As leaders we need to be careful to discern God’s will for His flock at all times.  Brothers Al Almeda and Butch Kagawan led worship during all the sessions.  During the four day retreat we calendared major events for the year and came up with a five year vision.   We also prayed for all the families of our church and their requests as well as for all the missionaries we support.  During the weekend we played a fun game called “Getting to Know You” where everyone wrote three interesting facts about themselves and placed them in a balloon.  During each session a few balloons were popped and the group tried to guess who the descriptions match.  The surprising revelations ensued in rip-roaring hilarity.  It was a great way to get to know one another and bond as a team.  All left Lake Tahoe refreshed, renewed and ready to serve.  We thank the church for praying for our safety, especially as we sloughed through a winter storm on the way home.  Over all it was a successful retreat and many expressed a desire to go back again next year.
