About Pastor Bob
Pastor Robert Asercion was born in Presidio, San Francisco, California and lived in the bay area till he was six years old. He spent most of his early years living in the Philippines when his father retired from the U.S. Navy.
Being the eldest of five children, he completed his grade school and high school in private Christian schools in Cavite City, Philippines. After high school, he went to live in Manila for college and studied Medical Technology at Far Eastern University. After two years, his father decided to go back to California with the family to live there permanently. Upon arrival to California, he decided to join the military at age eighteen. Through the years he was stationed at Moffett Field Naval Air Station, Mountain View California, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington, Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas, Naval Base Treasure Island, California, Alameda Naval Air Station, California, Lemoore Air Station, Lemoore California, Naval Station Adak, Alaska, Naval Station Kadena, Okinawa, Naval Air Station Cubi Point, Philippines, Air Base Misawa, Japan, and Air Base, Atsugi, Japan.
In 1997 while in the military, he graduated from Columbia College at Columbia, Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He retired from the military after serving for twenty-six years. He is currently a part-time assistant pastor at Faith Bible Church of Vallejo. Pastor Bob’s house in Glen Cove Vallejo, California was the place where Faith Bible Church of Vallejo started after many months as a Bible study group. After a few months, the church outgrew their home and had to move to Benicia elementary school.
Pastor Bob is married to his wonderful spouse Giessell Mallari Asercion, for thirty-three years. They have three beautiful children, Christopher, Rochelle and Shawn, who are all married. They are blessed to have three grandchildren, Cyrus-6 years old, Zoe-5 years old and Keira- 1 year old. Pastor Bob does volunteer work at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base as a visitation pastor for patients in the ward and helping in the chapel’s hospitality room. He is also a volunteer for Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Air Force Auxiliary as a second lieutenant, aircrew man and Administrative Officer in Squadron 44 Buchanan Field, California. Additionally, he is First Vice Commander at American Legion Post 603 in Vallejo, California and a state licensed RCFE administrator. Pastor Bob is passionate about music. He enjoys playing the bass guitar in our church worship team and plays keyboards in a local jazz band. Sports wise, he loves playing basketball, golf, and tennis. Through the years, he has been a faithful 49er, SF Giants and Warriors fan. When it comes to education, he considers himself to be a life-long learner. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree with Liberty University.
